Forrest Hyson
Forrest Hyson Gordon, better known as Flash, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood. He was 81 years old.
He was a long-time resident of Climax and Leadville, where he worked first for Climax and then AMAX. He was also active in the community and served for several years on the Leadville Water Board.
He was a member of the Elks and was known for his prowess in pitching horseshoes at the annual picnics.
Gordon loved playing softball, bowling, hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn Oelrich; his second wife LaVerne Pullman; daughter Lori Haanstad and stepchildren Mary and Carol Pullman.
He is survived by daughters Bernice Kohut and Christine DuPont; stepchildren Jack Pullman and Virginia Pullman; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene, with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
