Robert B. N. Peck, 94, a retired USAF Reserve Lieutenant Colonel and a Colorado Springs teacher, passed away in Bradenton, Florida, June 23, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Miriam and their daughters Barbara Peck, Joanne Healy (John), Nancy Peck (Richard) and son Ronald, and grandsons Christopher Healy and Zachary Peck. Robert married Miriam Nelson in Chicago, Ill. before moving to the Pikes Peak region in the 1950s to raise their family. He owned a retail garden and nursery business in Colorado Springs and worked for National Western Life Insurance before taking a teaching position in the history department at Wasson High School. Born a US Citizen in London, England, 1917, Robert spent his childhood in France and England. His family relocated to the United States as a young boy. Robert earned a B.A. in History from the University of Arizona at Tempe, and a Masters Degree in Education from Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colo. Robert served his country honorably as an intelligence officer in the US Army Signal Corps, Aeronautical Division, during World War II and served in the campaigns of North Africa and Italy. He was also a recognized Son of the American Revolution (SAR). The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Philanthropy Department, Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL 34238. He will be interred at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
