Janice Elaine Casey Winslow, 57, of Buena Vista died May 25, 2012, after a two-year battle with melanoma. She died at home surrounded by her family and in the care of Angel of Shavano Hospice. Also known as Jambi and Mimi, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, sister-in-law and friend. Jambi was born in Concord, N.H., Aug. 17, 1954, to Theresa Eleanor Woodard and Robert D. Casey. She grew up in Queensbury, N.Y., with her three siblings, Sharon Miner of Buena Vista; Daniel Casey of Warrensburg, N.Y.; and Alan Casey of Queensbury, N.Y. Jambi graduated from Queensbury High School in 1972, where she met her husband, Don Winslow. They were married in 1974. They lived life to the fullest with their children and grandchildren, exploring, hiking, climbing, biking, skiing and traveling. Jambi had a passion for horticulture and also was known for her beautiful pottery, wreathes and floral arrangements, and was an interior designer. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert D. Casey, and her nephew Keith Brown. Jambi is survived by her husband, Don Winslow of Buena Vista; daughter Shaunescy (Joe) Willard and grandchildren Ella and Bligh of Bozeman, Mont.; son Casey (Katie) Winslow of Thornton; mother Eleanor T. Casey of Queensbury, N.Y.; siblings Sharon (Butch) Miner of Buena Vista, Daniel (Linda) Casey of Warrensburg, N.Y., and Alan (Cat) Casey of Queensbury, NY. She also is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial is planned for June 23, 2012, in Buena Vista. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angel of Shavano Hospice.
