RHUDE, Howard L.

Howard L. Rhude, 61, Salida, died May 27, 2012, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Salida. He was born Nov. 2, 1950, in East St. Louis, Ill., to John and Marion (Brown) Rhude. He married Micha Clark in 1970. Mr. Rhude enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and flew F-4 Phantom fighter jets. He was the chief financial officer of Martin Marietta before retiring. Mr. Rhude lived in various places in the U.S., the Philippines and Japan. He loved being on the ocean and being with his granddaughters. He spent summers in Salida and winters on his boat. Mr. Rhude was preceded in death by his father and sister Lynette. Survivors include his mother, Marion, of Belleville, Ill.; sister, Michelle Bauer of Belleville; brother, Ken (Jennifer) Rhude of Carbondale, Ill.; son, Adam (Amy) Rhude of Salida; granddaughters, Hannah and Megan; and a nephew and niece.
