Virginia M. Romero, 83, Salida, died June 1, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 3, 1928, to Edwardo and Adelaisa Torres in Chacon, N.M. She had three sisters and four brothers. She married Mike Romero Aug. 7, 1946, in Holman, N.M. They began their family in April 1948 and had six children. Mrs. Romero was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Carol. Survivors include her children Phill, Thresea, Mike, Rita and Lee; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. June 9, 2012, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home in Salida. Online condolences may be offered at lewisandglenn.com. 2012
