SMITH, Michael J. "Smitty"

Michael J. "Smitty" Smith, 60, passed away Jan. 13. He was the first son of the late James Joseph "JJ" Smith of Leadville and Moab, Utah, and Norene O'Neill of Twin Lakes and Denver. Smith was a hard-rock miner, driller and mucker. He is survived by his mother; sisters Teresa Smith of Palmer, Alaska, and Joan Lipuma of Wilson, N.Y.; and brothers Dennis Smith of Greenwood Village, Jim Easton of Denver and John Easton of Anchorage, Alaska. Private services will be held May 26 at the family ranch in Leadville. 2012
