Anton J. "Tony" Leibseit, 63, of Leadville passed away on Jan. 31, 2012.
He was born to Anton George and Blanche (Ziri) Leibseit on Nov. 7, 1948, in Linz, Austria. He married the love of his life, Margo Alison (Quinn) Leibseit on Aug. 3, 1978.
Tony was said to be a family man, an iron worker and enjoyed horses and riding motorcycles. He was a sergeant in the Army's 101st Airborne, and a Vietnam War hero. He was extremely proud to have fought for and protected this country and received many medals for his bravery. He was said to be a magnificent man who "loved" big, and he always treated people with the upmost respect as a "real man of God and family" would.
Leibseit is survived by his wife Margo of Leadville; son Jeremy Leibseit of Leadville; daughters Catrina Leibseit of Leadville, Sabrina (Byron) Harrington of Monument, Alison (Wesley) Sandoval of Leadville, Renee (Ronnie) Roland of Texas, Coreena (Eric) Sonny of Texas and Heidi Leibseit of Salida; 23 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; his sister Anna of California; a niece; a nephew; and daughter-in-law Faith Leibseit of Leadville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Anton and granddaughter Destiny.
Private services were held. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Leadville. Bailey-Kent Funeral Home of Leadville assisted the family with arrangements. The family has requested that any donations in Leibseit's memory be made to a fund that has been set up at Peoples National Bank, P.O. Box 975, Leadville, CO 80461
