SPARKS, Kay

Kay Sparks, 78, of Grand Junction, passed away Jan. 31, after a long illness complicated by pneumonia. She is survived by daughters Linda (Rudy) Malesich, Grand Junction, and Sandy (Terry) Amsberry, Grand Junction; son Les (Sharon) Sparks, Denver; brother Lee (Wilma) Erven, Delta; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Leta Erven, and an infant daughter. Sparks lived in Leadville from 1963 to 1982. She did clerical work in the treasurer's office at the Lake County Courthouse. She then worked at St. Vincent's Hospital for many years as a bookkeeper in the collections department. Both of her daughters remained in Leadville for many years as well, until the late 1990s. Services were held on Feb. 3, in Grand Junction. 2012
