KLEIN, Eddie

Eddie Klein was born March 14, 1964, to Richard and Sharon Klein. He died Jan. 29 in Grand Junction. He spent his childhood in Leadville, graduating from Lake County High School in 1985. Klein was a Grand Junction resident for 12 years. He loved football, especially the Denver Broncos and Tim Tebow. An accomplished Special Olympian competing in skiing, weight lifting, bowling and even bobsledding, his time with the Special Olympics took him to London, Germany, Canada and all parts of the United States. He was preceded in death by his father Richard (Dick) Klein and mother Sharon Klein. Survivors include his sister Diane (Steve) Christie; brother Michael (Geri) Klein; nieces Miranda and Alyssa Christie and Stormy (Joe) Davis; many loving cousins and his six-year caretaker Kim Douglas. The funeral will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Feb. 17, at 11:15 a.m. with reception to follow.
