He moved to Leadville with his family when he was six years old and went to school in Lake County where he enjoyed his friends, classmates and school activities. He played Little League baseball and football, but most of all he loved the mountains, fishing and hanging out with friends.
When he was 14 years old he met Nicole Pfalzgraff from Buena Vista, whom he married in 2005. Together they had two girls, Harmony and Serenity.
