BRANSON, Darline Joyce

Darlene Joyce DeWine Branson of Twin Lakes died on March 2. She was 77 years old. She was born on Sept. 4, 1934, in Wichita, Kan., to Charlesy and Ivan DeWine, both of whom preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, David Lawrence Branson, on May 30, 1953, and the two of them created many adventures together. Their greatest adventure was raising their three children, Vicky, David, and Van. They lived in many different places: Wichita, Kan.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; Golden; Midland, Texas; Conroe, Texas; and eventually in Twin Lakes. She had a passion for young children and taught various Bible classes for 45 years. She and her husband retired and spent time enjoying the mountains, nature and the Mountain View Church of Christ in Buena Vista. Branson was preceded in death by her husband David, son Van, daughter-in-law Wendy, grandson Andy, brother Theron DeWine, sister Jackie Evans, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Vicky Chamberlin and her family; son David Branson and his family; sister Bonnie Jantz of Helena, Okla.; brothers Ivan DeWine of Mannford, Okla., Ross DeWine of Richland, Nebr., and Jon DeWine of Canon City; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. It is said Branson will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Family visitation has been scheduled for Saturday, March 17, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Mountain View Church of Christ, 16310 County Road 306, Buena Vista.
