SMITH, Ernest D.

Ernest (Ernie) D. Smith passed away April 10, at Gallatin Rest Home in Bozeman, Mont. He was born July 29, 1917, in Colony, Okla., to David and Pearl Smith.

Smith was a sharecropper, ordained minister and retired as an analyst/chemist from Climax Molybdenum. He moved to Bozeman in 1982 from Salida. He loved hunting and was an avid gunsmith.

Smith was preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia Carol, his wife Esther Datherine, and his grandson David Allen. He is survived by his two sons, Ronald David (Anita) Smith of Rigby, Idaho, and Donald Calvin (Kathy) Smith of Bozeman; his sister Lavell Thomas of California; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
