Bryan C. Bond, 59, of Salida, passed away on Thursday June 7, at his home in Salida.
Bond was born May 8, 1953, in Leadville to Raymond and Mildred (Zeleznikar) Bond Jr.
Bond was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leadville and a past member of the Kiwanis Club and the Leadville Elks Lodge. He enjoyed collecting and restoring cars, camping, hiking to the high lakes around Leadville, collecting old mining tools, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He was a history buff when it came to the history of Leadville and Salida.
He worked in the open-pit mine at Climax, for Lewis Petroleum in Salida and ASI. His most-recent job was as the resource technician for the state parks working at the Cheyenne Mountain State Park.
He married Beckie Lacy on June 4, 1983, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leadville.
Bond was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Beckie Bond, Salida; daughters Alicia (Mike) DeLeo of Salida and Andrea Bond of Salida; brother Gerald Bond of Castle Pines; sisters Kathy Connor and Mildred Severson, both of Grand Junction; aunts Eleanor Tekansik of Leadville, Annie MacLennan of Leadville and Betty Bond of Pueblo West; four nephews, two nieces, many cousins and granddaughter Adalis DeLeo of Salida.
Memorial services are set for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leadville. Friends who desire may make memorial contributions to the Angel of Shavano Hospice or the Mayo Clinic Cancer Research in Rochester, Minn., through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
