DIED
JOHNSON--At the residence of Mrs. R. J. McDermott in LaGrange, Thursday, Sept. 16, 1897, of paralysis, J. B. Johnson.
Deceased was born in that part of the Old Dominion now known as West Virginia, October 24, 1808. For years he had been residing with a son in Milo, Ia., but came on a visit to children residing near Greeley and at Wheatland, Wyo., about two months ago. He was enjoying good health until three days prior to his demise when he was stricken with paralysis. He was a typical Virginian of the old school, courteous to all and possessing ideas of manhood and integrity that are not so prevalent in these money making days.
The funeral took place from the residence of his daughter, Mrs. R. J. McDermott, Sunday, Sept. 19, the Rev. O. J. Moore of the Methodist Episcopal church officiating, and the remains were interred in Linn Grove.
A wife and children, Mrs. McDermott, Mrs. Willis F. Thompson, John and Bert Johnson of this vicinity; W. P. Johnson of Milo, Neb., Mrs. F. C. Borrall, Mrs. J. L. McClelland and George Johnson of Wheatland are left to mourn the loss of a loving husband and affectionate father.
