Greeley Tribune (Greeley, Weld County) Sep 11, 1902 Page 3 DEATHS Jesse Knight Saturday evening Jess, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Knight, passed away. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the residence, three and a half miles north of Greeley, the Rev. C. M. Rupe of the Greeley Baptist church officiating, and the body was laid to rest in Linn Grove. In Memory of Little Jesse Knight A little bark, “launched on the other side, Was sent from Heaven o an ebbing tide And a little life from the world above Was anchored in an earthly home of love It found a father’s sheltering care A mother’s priceless love was there And all seemed fair for a life of joy With this little sinless beautiful boy. But ah! In the realms of Paradise Where angels sing and all rejoice “The Father,” had need of this loveliest gem, To place in a Heavenly diadem. So an angel came and took away The little spirit from earthly clay And bore it back to the golden shore To be with “Our Father” forever more. But the hearts bereath--God will not forget He bears their burdens and loves them yet He will guard their treasure with tenderst care “Till he gives them back the little one there.
