Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County) Aug 19, 1921 Page 1 KILLED NEAR LONGS PEAK Again the auto takes toll in human life. Carl W. Hall of Denver was killed by the crushing of his head while repairing an automobile about a miles north of Longs. Peak Inn. He had jacked up the car a foot or more to take the weight off the spring, the jack being placed on a flat stone about fifteen inches across. Mr. Hall placed his head on the flat rock and was working under the car when the jack slipped or the work jarred the car loose, for it fell on his head, crushing it. His age was 54 years. He had been mail carrier for twenty-one years. Mr. Hall was traveling with his wife and Arthur E. Carver of Denver, both of whom saw the tragedy. The body was taken to Denver.
