Mr. Miller left Longmont about ten years ago and is therefore well known to most of our citizens. He was elected Mayor of Longmont in the spring of 1899 and served one term as a prohibition Mayor, for those were the days of saloons or no saloons and it was difficult to stop the liquor traffic. At first he helped his father, the late Files Miller, as a carpenter, and afterwards went into the real estate business and tho in poor health a part of the time he kept an office on Main street. He was a sufferer from kidney trouble. Mr. Miller leaves a wife, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Butler, and six children. Two of his sons served in France in the service of their country.
