I am not related to this family… Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado) Friday April 15, 1898 Page 3 DIED HORNBAKER--In Longmont, Wednesday, April 13, 1898 of appendicitis, Mrs. Sarah Isabel Hornbaker, aged 55 years, 3 months and 2 days. Again we are called upon to record the passing away of an old settler. One that has been well know in this section for many years. Sarah Isabel Way was born in Wapello Co, Iowa, Jan. 11, 1843, where she lived for over twenty years. She was married to Henry H. Hornbaker, Aug. 17, 1862, at the home of her parents. Their entire family, parents included, came across the plains with an ox team in 1864, being 73 days on the road, stopping about where Niwot now stands, where they lived until about ten years ago, when they came to Longmont. She was a member of the Congregational church. Six children were born to them, all of which are living, as well as ten grand-children. Her husband is also living. Funeral services will be held at the house this Friday morning at 10 o’clock, Rev. McCormick of Berthoud, officiating, the internment to take place at the Burlington cemetery.
