The Salida Mail, Salida, Chaffee County, Colorado, January 24, 1930 DAVID DALY, CONDUCTOR, DIES IN CALIFORNIA David Daly, well known conductor on the second division of the Rio Grande, died at 2 o'clock, this morning at Los Angeles, Cal. Mr. Daly had been on sick leave for a year on account of a heart ailment. He was one of the best known railroadmen in Salida. His wife was with him at the time of death. He was a brother-in law of Mrs. Minnie Mountford. Mr. Daly was a member of the Elks lodge at Leadville and was a member of the O. R. C. The body will be brought to Salida for interment. The Salida Mail, Salida, Chaffee County, Colorado, Friday, January 31, 1930 FUNERAL OF DAVID DALY HELD HERE WEDNESDAY Funeral services for David Daly were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Elks Home, the Rev. L. Harold Forde of the Presbyterian church officiating. There was a large attendance and there were many beautiful floral offerings. Hymns were sung by Mrs. R. J. Pendergrast and Mrs. Wendell Chrest. The pall bearers were C. H. Bunbury, W. D. Clarke, John Rawlings, A. C. Twitchell, William Newman and Frank Stevens. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Daly died January 24 in Los Angeles, Cal., after an illness of a year. He was a well known conductor on the second division of the Rio Grande. He was a member of the O. R. C. and a member of the Elks lodge at Leadville. Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Daly of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Gene Hicks and Mrs. W. L. Parlin of Leadville were among those from out of town who attended the funeral. Mr. Daly is a brother of the deceased.
