Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado) June 30, 1922 Page 5 DIED HUBBARD--In Longmont, Friday, June 23, 1922, Mrs. Mary Adelaide Hubbard, aged 73 years and 5 months. Mary Adelaide Easton was born in Illinois, November 16, 1848. She came to Longmont in 1872 to teach school and taught one year, after which she was married to R. M. Hubbard, a grocer, who later served as postmaster. Mr. Hubbard passed away in 1890 and for several years following his death Mrs. Hubbard, with the aid of her daughter, kept up the business, finally selling it to J. K. Bashor. Mrs. Hubbard was a much loved member of the Congregational Church and W.C. T. U. ; she was kind and thoughtful of others and will be greatly missed. On Thursday, June 15, she suffered a paralytic stroke, from which she did not recover consciousness, but quietly passed away Friday, June 23. She leaves four children to mourn her going; Mrs. J. C. Choate of Washington, D.C.; Miss Gladys Hubbard, John Hubbard and Royal Hubbard, all of Longmont, Funeral services were held from the home, 527 Terry street, Saturday afternoon at 4 o’clock, Rev. Monroe Markley officiating.
