Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County, Colorado) June 23, 1911 Page 1 KILLED BY LIGHTNING Edgar McGann was struck by lightning in the pea filed near the Harry Stapp farm nor east of Longmont, Wednesday about 1:30. He had a steel pitchfork in his hand which is supposed to have attracted the lightning. Ivan Morgan, Earl Cowan and Dick Martin were working with and were stunned by the electric shock and fell to the ground but quickly recovered. Dr. C. F. Andrew was phoned for from the Stapp residence but he could do no good, as Mr. McGann was killed instantly. Edgar McGann has been living with his parents at Park Place and is well known. His age was 20 years. Funeral services will be held at Shaw and Parkhurst parlors at 2:30 this Friday afternoon.
