Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County) October 27, 1922 Page 4 DEATH OF DR. LYMAN ABBOTT Dr. Lyman Abbott, editor of the Outlook, passed this life October 22, 1922, at the age of nearly 81 years. In many respects he was a remarkable man and columns could be written about his life. Those who have read his editorials in the Outlook could not help but admire the vigor of that as well as Christian faith embodied in them. When he was 80 years of age the Outlook published an editorial written by himself saying in substance that he was looking forward to the “Great Adventure” with anticipation for he was like a man in the bow of the vessel sailing for an unknown land, wondering what it would look like. On the death of Henry Ward Beecher he became pastor of the Plymouth Church, Brooklyn, for nine years. Note: It is not really clear where Dr. Lyman died.
