The Greeley Tribune Republic Greeley, Colorado Wednesday December 14, 1918 Orval O. Blake the 20 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. A.O. Blake passed away Tuesday November 26 at his home near Buckingham after a brief illness of influenza pneumonia. Orval O. Blake was born in Greeley, June 29, 1898. He received his education at Columbine public school entering Eaton high in 1912. He with his parents moved to Greeley and later near Buckingham, Colorado, where he and his father were engaged in dryland farming until last winter he attended the Rahe’s Automobile Training school of Kansas City, Mo., after being a graduate from Rahe’s he has been engaged in mechanical work until the time of his death. He was very popular among his many friends because of his quiet, cheerful nature. He will be greatly missed not only by his relatives but by all who knew him. Left to mourn are his father, mother, sister, six brother and many relatives. Arrangements for the funeral will be made later on account of the illness of the other members of the family who are recovering from the influenza. Note: There is an Orval O Blake buried in the Eaton Cemetery (per findagrave) Blk 14, Lot 19, Grv 132...died Dec 15, 1918. This could be the burial date, not the death date..since the obit says Nov 26.
