Melba Lou Waterman, 84, of Greeley, passed away Oct. 29 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
She was born June 16, 1926 to Clarence and Gertrude (Smith) Kendeigh in Palisade.
Waterman graduated from Greeley High School in 1945. On June 1, 1947 she married Glenn Waterman, Sr. in Greeley. He passed away in March 1987. On Dec. 21, 1999 she married Elmer Burkhard in Greeley. He passed away in February 2007.
Waterman was said to be a devoted wife and homemaker and was a loving mother to her five children. She was said to have a strong and abiding faith in God that was evident to all who knew her. Waterman will be missed and remembered as a selfless person who was always concerned with the needs of others.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Chaney, Leadville; sons, Glenn Waterman, Jr., Greeley, Bill (Sharon) Waterman, Greeley, Paul (Carolyn) Waterman, Moore, Okla.; and Richard (Leanne) Waterman, Miles City, Mont.; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a sister and two brothers.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Nov. 1, at Borgmann Chapel at Bonell Good Samaritan Community, Greeley. Interment was at Linn Grove Cemetery.
