MOTOR ACCIDENT
Ruth Williams, Injured in Fatal Crash, Reported Somewhat Better at Hospital and Physicians Hold Out Hope for Recovery
The bodies of Mrs. Bella Bruce Sibley and Mrs. Blanch Sibley Williams, victims of the Union Pacific motor-automobile crash of last Sunday were buried in a double grave at Linn Grove Wednesday noon, following impressive funeral services held at State Teachers college.
The funeral was held from the steps of the administrative building of the college and was attended by 1,000 people. Rev. Walter I.Fowie, pastor of the First Baptist church of Greely and Rev. Arthur Phelps, former pastor of the church, conducted the service. Rev. W. T. Scott, pastor of the First Methodist church, offered prayer. Before the funeral the bodies lay in state in the rotunda of the administration building. Man floral offering partially covered the caskets and furnished a beautiful background.
The bodies were taken to the cemetery in two funeral cars. Members of the faculty of State Teachers college were pallbearers for Mrs. Sibley and instructors of Greely High School bore the casket of Mrs. Williams.
Ruth Williams, 7 year old girl, who received a skull fracture Sunday in the wreck at Twentieth street crossing which killed both her mother, Mrs. Blanche Williams, and her grandmother, Mrs. Bella Sibley, showed marked improvement at the Greeley hospital Wednesday.
Thruout most of Tuesday the little girl had lain almost like a dead child, Wednesday she became noticeably brighter and cried repeatedly for her mother. Meanwhile the mother and grandmother were being buried at the Linn Grove cemetery. Physicians and hospital attendants were more hopeful of the little girl’s recovery Wednesday than at any time since the accident.
