Frank R. Baird, 54 Dies in California
Frank R Baird 54, former Longmont man died in a veterans hospital in Long Beach, Calif, Monday after a month's illness. He was the son of Mrs. Emma Baird of Longmont.
Mr Baird came to Longmont with his parent in 191 and attended schools here. He then served four years in the navy, after which he was employed as a steam fitter. Later he attended embalming school and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer.
He was employed by a Pueblo mortuary for a time and later worked at Probs Funeral Home in LOngmont for several years. Following this he returned to his work as steam fitter fitter and moved to California in 1954. He was a navy veteran of World War II and received several citations.
In addition to his mother he is survived by a brother, Hansel of Phoenix and a sister, Mrs Anna George of Westcliff, Colo.
Mr. Baird was a member of ST.Vrain Lodge No 23 A.F and A.M. He was born in Lee's Summit, MO Sept 15, 1906.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Lewellen Funeral HOme with burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
Note: He buried in Block 49, Lot 49. His tombstone says
"Colorado, ACM USNR WWII"
