LONGMONT TIMES-CALL Longmont, Colorado Tues Feb 12, 1975 KATIE ELLEN BAIRD DIES HERE MONDAY Mrs Katie Ellen Baird, retired practical nurse died in Longmont rest home Monday after five years illness. She was 72. Mrs. Baird who had been seriously ill the past six months was born in Elkhart, Illinois, August 30, 1884. She was married to Morris E (Edward) Baird in Iowa, October 14, 1901. They farmed in Rolla, Kansas for 21 years before coming to Longmont in July 1918 (maybe 1928) . Mr Baird died in 1945. Mrs. Baird, a life-long member of the Methodist Church, belonged to First Methodist Church in this city, and also took an active interest in Women's Christian Temperance Union activation. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Gladys E. Jones of Aurora, Colorado; one grandson and one niece, Mrs. Perry Stoneking, living in Illinois. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from Lewelllen funeral home. REv. Donald Granders afficiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Katie is buried along side her husband Morris...Block 47, Lot 50.
