Edith C. Hinton
Our dear mother, Edith C. Hinton, 93, entered Heaven on Tuesday, April 5, 2005. She resided at the Life Care Center in Farmington.
Edith Brown was born in Ione, Wash., on Jan. 3, 1912, and married Raymond Howard Hinton in Cortez, Colo., on Nov. 12, 1931. Raymond passed away in 1976.
She is lovingly honored and remembered by her sons, Howard Hinton and wife, Wanda, of Beaumont, Calif., and Norman Hinton and wife, Ouida, of Farmington; daughter, Karen Broten and husband, Scott, of Farmington; and her sister, Ruth Tate, 99, of Farmington.
Edith had lived in the Farmington area for the past 42 years and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alva Eddie Brown and Clara Mae Dennison Brown; her daughter, Dorothy Ileen Greenlee; and infant daughters, Shirley Edith and Mona Glee; as well as her grandsons, Michael Norman Hinton and Steven Kent High; her sisters, Irene Carver, Ella Hinton, Blanche Hendrickson; and brother, Elmer Brown.
Edith delighted in the lives and accomplishments of 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, the Riley families.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, at the Cortez Cemetery in Cortez, Colo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be gifted to Northwest New Mexico Hospice or the Activity Fund at the Life Care Center of Farmington.
