Frances Heath
A funeral for longtime Mancos resident Frances Heath will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Cortez. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. The Rev. Erika Meyer will officiate.
A visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday at noon at the St. Barnabas Church.
After interment services there will be a reception held for family and friends at the family home located at 11525 Road 34 in Mancos.
Frances was born Nov. 27, 1913, in Denver, to Thomas John and Jean (Stevens) Riley. She died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at the Southwest Memorial Hospital. Frances was 90 years old.
An active member of her community, Frances participated in many organizations. She was involved with the Anasazi Heritage Center as well as Crow Canyon. She was a member of the Colorado Association of Legal Secretaries and belonged to the St. Barnabas Alter Guild. In her spare time, Frances enjoyed playing bridge.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Margaret M. Heath and husband, John A. Beezley, of Mancos; and her grandchildren: Alexander Allen Kane of Irvine, Calif., and Stephanie Ann Kane of Fort Collins, Colo.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Vernon Conger Heath; as well as three sisters and one brother.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association or For Pets' Sake Humane Society.
