GRAVES, Idah Marie

Ertel Funeral Home Cortez, Colorado Idah Marie Graves Funeral services for Idah Marie Graves, a lifelong resident of Cortez, will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Marvin Graves will officiate. Interment is to follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Marie, as she was known to family and friends, was born Sept. 21, 1913 in Cortez to John Henry and Leona (Warren) Gregory. She died at Vista Grande Nursing Home on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 at the age of 90. On June 8, 1936 Marie married Harley Dale Graves in Cortez. The couple shared 65 years of marriage until Harley's death in January 2002. Considered an excellent seamstress, Marie had sewn most of her life. Surviving Marie are her son, Harold E. Graves and wife, Donna, of Cortez; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Vylabell Henderson of Arlington, Texas. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Marie Graves with Hospice of Montezuma, 1345 S. Broadway, Cortez, Colo. Services are under the direction of the Ertel Funeral Home.
