Ertel Funeral Home Cortez, Colorado Ramona Deer Cantsee Birth: Sep. 4, 1938 Death: Nov. 7, 2005 Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc and White Mesa resident Ramona Deer Cantsee will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Ertel Chapel from 3 to 5 p.m. Ramona was born Sept. 4, 1938, in Allen Canyon, Utah, the daughter of Chester Cantsee Sr. and Katie Deer. She passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at her home in Towaoc at the age of 67. Ramona was a master basket weaver and loved to cross-stitch. She enjoyed listening to music, and singing and dancing at hand games. She adored all of her grandchildren. Surviving Ramona are her children, Ricky Cantsee of Blanding, Utah, Garrick Denetsosie, Alvida J. Ketchum and husband, Paul, all of Towaoc; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Jack Cantsee Sr. of White Mesa, Utah, Chester Cantsee Jr. and Shirley Deer, both of Towaoc, Wanda Deer of Tennessee, Jenifer Cantsee of White Mesa, Norman Lansing of Arboles, Colo., Herbert Lansing Jr. of Denver and Stacey Lansing of Towaoc. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Bobby Denettsosie, and her daughter, Cynthia Denetsosie. Services are under the direction of the Ertel Funeral Home.
