Ertel Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Cortez, Colorado Birth: Jul. 1, 1910 Death: Dec. 22, 2003 Graveside services for lifelong White Mesa resident Barbara Moustache Begay will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Friday morning at the Ertel Memorial Chapel from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m. Barbara was born on July 1, 1910, at Royal Hogan Mesa in Bluff, Utah, to Thomas Moustache and Asa (Hernandez) Begay. She died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at the San Juan Hospital in Monticello, Utah, at the age of 93. Barbara was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed rug weaving, quilting, and spinning wool. Surviving Barbara are her children, Thomas Benally, Daisy Benally, Donna Benally, Cecilia Benally, Leroy Benally, Mary Jane Cantsee, Frances Curley, and Sarah Yamito. She leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husband, Chischilly Begay; children, Jackson Benally, Luke Benally, Rose, and her infant daughter; as well as her three brothers, and one sister.
