DOLLY IRENE RIGGOTT Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Dolly Irene Riggott will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 2 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Adrian Garcia will officiate. A visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Dolly was born on August 8, 1922 in Barberton, Ohio the daughter of Raymond and Ruth L. (Repp) Conner. She passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. On February 14, 1947 Dolly married Harold J. Riggott in Denver, Colo. A registered nurse, Dolly worked for Dr. Merritt for many years and she also devoted several years at Vista Grande Nursing Home. Dolly was a member of Faith Bible Church, Widows Connection, and the local doll club. She took great pride in making and collecting bears and dolls. Dolly was a talented painter and she enjoyed taking part in bible study. Surviving Dolly are her children, Larry Riggott of Dolores, Steve Riggott and fiancé, Jill Harris of Pocatello, Ida., and Judy Walker and husband, Steve of Mancos; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and her beloved companion, Rowdy. Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Riggott; her daughter Joan Riggott; and her sister, Faith I. Walker.
