Greeley Tribune (Greeley, Weld County); Date: Jan 14, 1897 Page 8 JOHN STONE Friday evening, Jan 4, at his home three miles south of LaSalle, John Stone aged 19 years, 11 months and six days. The cause of death was appendicitis. On Dec 29, he was taken to his bed and grew worse day by day until death claimed him. He was ambitious, truthful and honorable. For two years he was a member of the class of ‘98 in the State Normal. John was a trustworthy young man, well liked and respected by all his acquaintances, and his sudden death while on the verge of vigorous manhood is a very sad one. Our sympathy is extended to the bereft family. The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church at Evans at 11 o’clock Wednesday, January 6, with burial in the Linn Grove cemetery, Greeley. Walter S. Kimzey
