ALLEN, Watson Sterling

Greeley Tribune (Greeley, Weld County) Date: Oct 30, 1902 Page 6 Watson Sterling Allen At 2 o’clock Friday morning the little form of Watson Sterling Allen became lifeless clay and the hearts of a loving father and mother were made to feel the first pangs of a genuine sorrow and loss. To the parents who have watched the little tendril developing through babyhood to a prattling boy, on which they built fond and loving hopes, death’s visitation is something awful and time never heals the wound. Watson Sterling was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Pliny W. Allen. He was just the age to endearing to all, for four summers was all he had seen of this world beautiful. About a month ago he was stricken with that terror of the household, typhoid fever, and all that loving hands and hears could do and medical science could suggest was lavished on the little sufferer. But the fates decreed the end and at the second hour of a new day the little heart ceased to beat and one more happy home was made to feel the dread presence which has ever been a dread to human king. The funeral was held from the parent’s home Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Frank M. Sheldon officiating, and the little form was interred in Linn Grove.
