"Obituary
Ebenezer Rich was born in Erie,
Pa., December 26, 1846 and died in
Oak Creek, Colo., May 11, 1917, being
71 years, 4 months and 15 days of age
at the time of his death.
Of a large family of children only
one brother, residing in Chicago,
survives. Mr. Rich spent his young
manhood in Chicago, where he was
engaged in the real estate and in-
surance business. He later came
west and followed mining in Mexico,
Arizona and Colorado, being for some
time a resident of Central City.
He came to Oak Creek more than
twenty years ago, with a large
amount of stock and farm tools and
located on the ranch just southeast of
town, where he resided until his
death.
The wife of the deceased died
twenty-five years ago, passing away
in 1892 at the age of twenty-eight
years. Four boys were born to this
union, two of whom died in infancy
and two survive, John D. and Edward
D.
Funeral services were held Satur-
day afternoon at the Hoskings mor-
tuary, and were conducted by Rev.
Louis E. Goodwin. A large number
of friends attended the last sad rites.
The remains were shipped to Golden,
Colorado, where the body was inter-
red beside the members of the family
who preceeded him to the great
beyond."
