EATON, Eleanor

Eleanor Eaton was born August 23,1817, in the state of New York. She moved with her family to southern Michigan in 1834. Eleanor married Christopher C. Eaton in 1835 and they raised eleven children. In 1872 they moved to Greeley where her son Oscar had land. Two daughters are still living: Mrs. R. K. Smith, Greeley, CO and Mrs A. J. Wilber, Sinaloa colony near Topolobampo, Mexico. She died Saturday, February 25, 1893, cause of death was a cancerous stomach. The funeral was held from her late residence on Wednesday, March 1, 1893, Rev. R. E. Blount officiating and burial was at Linn Grove Cemetery. Taken from Greeley Tribune March 2, 1893
