[1917 June 21 Gilpin Observer, Central City, CO] DEATH OF LOUIS ESSMAN ——— Louis Essman, an old resident of Gilpin, was found dead in his cabin last Thursday evening by J.E. Quinn. He was last seen on Tuesday, when it is supposed he died of hemmorrhage of the lungs. Mr. Essman was born in Germany, October 12th, 1846 and had lived in Gilpin 42 years. He leaves no known relatives. Jas. B. Cuthbertson, a lifelong friend of Golden, looked after the burial expenses. The funeral was held Monday morning from the local chapel and was largely attended by neighbors from Gilpin.
