Smith, of 1430 Santa Fe Drive, died Friday at St. Anthony Hospital after a short illness. He was 84. Born Oct. 30, 1886, in Denver, he attended schools in Kiowa, Colo. the son of a pioneer Colorado family, he lived on a ranch east of Kiowa until about 1900, when the family moved to Denver. He married Clara Pearson in 1926 at Seattle, Wash. She died in 1954. For 39 years Smith was a stationary engineer at the Mack Building, 16th and California Sts. He was a member and past master of Schiller Lodge No. 41, AF&AM. He is survived by a brother, Henry Smith of Denver.
