FISCHER, Mildred M.


Mildred M. Fischer, 77, died Dec. 29, 2006, at Columbine Manor Care Center in Salida. Mrs. Fischer was born May 24, 1929, in Valentine, Neb. She was a wonderful and spirited joy to her family. She lived a full and joyful life. She was a perfect wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed many things through out her life such as cooking for large crowds, sewing, gardening, watching game shows and keeping herself entertained with crossword puzzles. Mrs. Fischer was happily married for 59 years to Carl Fischer. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Salida. She was a member of the Climax Wives and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Fischer loved Long John Silvers, she loved her fish. She enjoyed making pillows and blankets for her great-grandchildren. She also raised a beautiful garden of flowers and rose bushes. She will be missed dearly and loved unconditionally. Mrs. Fischer is survived by her loving husband, Carl Fischer of Buena Vista; daughters, Lois (Andy) Hansen of Buena Vista, Janet (Dan) Doty of Clifton, Rebecca (Larry) Schneider of Farmington, N.M. and Karen Plewes of Harlan, Iowa; sons, Robert Fischer of Harlan, Iowa and Paul (Marilyn) Fischer of Farmington, N.M.; three sisters, one brother, 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fischer was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Jean, son Richard, her mother and father, brother Doug, two grandsons, one great great- grandson Robbie Jo, one sister-in-law and two son-in-laws. Viewing will be from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Jan. 3, 2007, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Services are set for 11 a.m. Jan. 4, 2007, at the First Lutheran Church in Salida. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the San Pablo Lutheran Church or the Ronald McDonald House of Colorado Springs through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Mountain Mail SAlida, Colorado
