Mavise June Dennett, formerly of Buena Vista, died in Loveland of natural causes on Oct. 8, 2006. She was 81 years old. The daughter of Rolla Darrell and Pansy Mae "Billie" (Semisch) Bailey, she was born Aug. 15, 1925, in San Bernardino, Calif. She was raised by her stepfather and mother, Ray and Pansy Mae "Billie" Rinehard. She married Dale Rex Dennett on June 2, 1943 in Augusta, Kan. Mrs. Dennett lived in Buena Vista for 40 years and moved to Longmont after her husband’s death in 1999. She raised four children and worked as a Realtor in Buena Vista. Prior to that employment, she owned and operated the Old Log House Antiques Store. She also served several years on the Buena Vista Library Board. She will be remembered for her love of reading, her extensive knowledge of antiques and Indian jewelry, her love of cats and large dogs, her keen decorating sense and her green thumb. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Patrick Dennett; and a great-granddaughter, Kira Archibald. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne (Rick) Archibald of Loveland and Rosi Koopmann of Boulder; a son, Michael Dennett of Crestone; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
