Lawrence G. "Larry"
Lawrence G. "Larry" Brady, 67, long time Salida resident died Oct. 20, 2006, at his home in Salida surrounded by his wife, daughter and sister. Mr. Brady was born April 17, 1939, in Leadville to William and Ernastine (High) Brady.
Mr. Brady served his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. He was a member of the 1st Infantry stationed at Fort Riley, Kan. Mr. Brady married the love of his life, Diana Fear April 26, 1969, in Salida, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mr. Brady enjoyed the outdoors, camping, skiing, fishing and enjoyed taking care of the city parks. He was a huge Broncos fan and enjoyed going to Broncos games and all sporting events. The greatest love of his life was his family and spending time with them.
Mr. Brady is survived by his wife, Diana Brady of Salida; son, Larry (Angie) Brady Jr. of Battlement Mesa; daughter, Valerie (Eddie) Martinez of Erie; sister, Geraldine Hagan of Buena Vista; mother-in-law, Rosie Fear of Salida; brother-in-law, John (Carol) Fear Jr. of Salida; and grandchildren, Eric Martinez, Shea Martinez, Caitlin Brady, Corrin Brady and Duke Brady. Mr. Brady is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bill Brady Jr. and brother-in-law, Gene Hagan.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 24, 2006, at Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Oct. 25, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends who desire may make memorial contribution to either St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Angel of Shavano Hospice through Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home.
