LEE, Gerald


Gerald Lee, 83, of Salida - formerly of Santa Fé, N.M. and Denver - died Sept. 21, 2006, at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 3, 1922, to Isadore and Yetta (Cohen) Liebowitz in Bronx, N.Y. Mr. Lee was an avid hiker. He was a past member of the Colorado Mountain Club where he led many hikes. He loved music, the theater, arts and animals, and was a seasoned usher for many cultural events. He enjoyed walking even through his latest illness. He served in the Army National Guard during World War II. Mr. Lee was employed by plumbing, heating and electrical companies in marketing. Survivors are his wife, Felice Larsen of Salida; daughter, Michelle (Patrick McKendry) Kalevik of Denver; two brothers and a granddaughter, Kara Huff. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Francine . Memorial arrangements are pending.
