Following graduation from Longmont High School, she attended Colorado State University, studying to become a Home Economics teacher. Peggy met her husband, Paul Zenobia, while working as a hostess at a USO in Ft. Logan during World War II. They were married September 16, 1944 at Lowry Air Force Chapel in Denver. She liked to attend operas and plays at the Fine Arts Center, and was lucky playing the slots at Las Vegas and Monte Carlo. Her extended family enjoyed many gatherings at her home, cheering on the Denver Broncos and playing board games. It was important to Peggy to give back to her community and she worked as a volunteer for the Assistance League, helping out at the Bargain Box and on various fundraisers for Operation School Bell, a project near and dear to her heart. She also was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for more than 57 years and held many offices in the organization. She was preceded in death by her parents John Comstock, Jr. and Frances (Kincaid) Comstock, her husband, Paul, and her grandson, Robert Carson II. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Friesen (Don) of Salem, Oregon, granddaughter, Katy Kahn (Noah) of Oakland, California, great-grandson, Isaiah, and her sisters Maxine Piercy of Colorado Springs, Jean Hejl of Rangely, Colorado, and Jessie Crescentini of Denver, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Please join us in a celebration of her life at First United Methodist, Lehmberg Chapel, at 2:00 PM on July 7, 2012.
